Overview

Engagement of UTIA alumni and friends through philanthropy, volunteerism, and advocacy. Barber has served as the vice chancellor of Institutional Advancement for the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture and the UT Foundation Inc. since 2012. He has dedicated his career to the enhancement of higher education through volunteerism and philanthropy. Barber believes in the valuable lessons gained in and out of the classroom and combines this with his interest in constituents’ motivations for engagement to lead a team-oriented approach in support of the land-grant missions of teaching, research, and outreach. He has served on and spoken to numerous local, state, and national affiliates associated with community and professional volunteerism, including service as president of the National Agricultural Alumni and Development Association (NAADA).
