Overview

Dr. Johnson has been an Associate Professor and Nutrition Extension Specialist in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences since 2017. Dr. Johnson is a Registered Dietitian and has a doctorate in Foods and Nutrition and Certificate of Gerontology from the University of Georgia. Prior to her role with the University of Tennessee Extension, Dr. Johnson served as the Wellness Coordinator for the Northeast Georgia Area Agency on Aging, implementing and evaluating wellness programs for older adults in 12 Georgia counties. Dr. Johnson's interests lie in ensuring all people have the opportunities to access adequate amounts of nutritious foods.

Research Focus

Extension and outreach programming promoting nutrition security, chronic disease prevention and management, and healthy aging.
