Overview

Dr. Johnson has been an Assistant Professor and Nutrition Specialist with the University of Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Department since 2017. Dr. Johnson is a registered dietitian and has a doctorate in Foods and Nutrition and Certificate of Gerontology from the University of Georgia. Prior to her role with the University of Tennessee Extension, Dr. Johnson served as the Wellness Coordinator for the Northeast Georgia Area Agency on Aging, implementing and evaluating wellness programs for older adults in 12 Georgia counties. Dr. Johnson's interests lie in ensuring access to nutritious foods and promoting nutritious food choices for people of all ages.

Outreach Focus

Extension and outreach programming involves diet-related chronic disease prevention and management, programming that promotes healthy aging, worksite wellness initiatives and promoting healthy food access
