Welcome to the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture (UTIA). Our Institute is at the core of the University of Tennessee’s land-grant mission of teaching, research and outreach. We fulfill that mission through the impactful work of outstanding faculty, staff, and students, guided by our ten-year strategic plan.
The institute’s four units—the Herbert College of Agriculture, the College of Veterinary Medicine, UT AgResearch, and UT Extension—contribute to improving quality of life; educating tomorrow’s leaders; and enhancing the agricultural economics, environment, and health of our state and world. People respect and rely on UTIA for important research-based information and trusted guidance in their daily lives. With a presence in every Tennessee county, and with our impact across the country and around the globe, we really are “everywhere you look” making a positive difference for so many.
The challenges ahead of us are significant as we look to find Real. Life. Solutions. for our most pressing agricultural issues. We know that audiences outside of our agricultural community are not as aware of the critical role agriculture plays in their daily lives from the food they eat, to the clothes they wear, to the homes in which they live. We need to continue to deliver that message through the critical work we do on behalf of the state of Tennessee.
We are committed to continuing to discover new and innovative ways to provide Real. Life. Solutions. to the people of Tennessee and beyond. Thank you for visiting our site and we look forward to serving you.
