Anne M Olson
Specialization: Nutrition, Food Preparation, Resource Management, Food Safety and Being Active
I started with UT Extension as an Area Agent overseeing the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in 1997. Over the years, I have worked in various positions with both EFNEP and the Tennessee Nutrition and Consumer Education Program (TNCEP/SNAP-Ed) leading to my current position as an Extension Area Specialist overseeing both of these great nutrition programs. In my current position, I provide program guidance and curriculum training for all new TNCEP/SNAP-Ed and EFNEP Program Assistants and on-going program and curriculum training to current TNCEP/SNAP-Ed and EFNEP Program Assistants. I enjoy working with program assistants in ten counties located in the eastern region. I especially enjoy visiting the many counties and observing Program Assistants facilitate and engage their participants in the learning process. During these county visits, I often have the chance to visit and interview the many community partners and program participants. It is especially gratifying to see data reflecting the positive changes participants have made and especially to hear directly from the partners and participants the touching stories that they shared with me as a result of TNCEP/SNAP-Ed and EFNEP programs.
