Overview

Tyler Carr is a native of White Hall, AR and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate and Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Plant Sciences. He received his M.S. in Turfgrass Science and Management from the University of Arkansas in 2019. Tyler's research interests include developing management practices to reduce water, fertilizer, pesticide, and labor inputs in turfgrass systems. In spring 2022, Tyler served as the lead instructor for PLSC 442/542 – Turfgrass Rootzone Construction and Management. Additionally, Tyler was a founding member of the Plant Sciences Graduate Student Association and is an active member of the Crop Science Society of America (CSSA), Sports Field Management Association (SFMA), and Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). Tyler currently serves on the Education Committee for the SFMA and the Graduate Student Committee for the C5 Division of CSSA.

Research Focus

Tyler's research focuses on management practices to hasten vegetative zoysiagrass establishment from sprigs.
