Merrie is an undergrad at UT studying animal science. She has been working in the UTIA Center for Wildlife Health and the Amphibian Disease Lab since August 2020, assisting with experiments, diagnostic assays, and histology. She also is co-leading research testing the efficacy of plant-derived fungicides at inactivating Bsal in the environment and treating Bsal-infected salamanders. She is interested in both immunology and epidemiology of wildlife disease and plans on attending graduate school to pursue a career in One Health.
