Dr. Chris Eck is an Associate Professor of Agricultural and Extension Education in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. His teaching, research, and service/outreach revolve around the recruitment, preparation, and support of agricultural educators.

My research aims to determine the necessary human capital (i.e., preparation, training, and support) for agricultural educators to be effective; investigate the self-efficacy of educators to integrate and teach STEM in the context of agriculture; evaluate the preparation, in-service training, and retention of agricultural educators; and evaluate the college and career readiness of secondary students.

Research Focus

My research aims to investigate the human capital of agricultural educators and evaluate the college and career readiness of secondary students.

Outreach Focus

The Next Chapter Program is a 4 year college and career readiness program, of which Dr. Eck serves as the Director.
