Jason S Williams
Jason Williams serves as the Interim Director of the University of Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center at Milan, where he leads research efforts focused on agricultural innovation, sustainability, and precision farming. A lifelong resident of Milan, Tennessee, Jason began his agricultural journey as a summer student worker at the Center during high school, later graduating from Milan High School.
After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business from the University of Tennessee at Martin, Jason worked in outside sales for Tennessee Farmers Cooperative in both Henderson and Obion counties. In December 1995, he returned to the Milan Center as a Research Associate, a role he held for 29 years, contributing extensively to field research in crop production, weed science, and emerging technologies in agriculture.
Jason also holds a Master’s degree from Murray State University. With the recent acquisition of new equipment funded through the American Rescue Plan (ARP), he plans to dive deeper into precision agriculture—leveraging advanced tools and data-driven approaches to enhance research outcomes and support Tennessee farmers.
