Overview

Troy Dugger began his work with the Center for Profitable Agriculture in July 2018 as a Program Coordinator. Troy is involved in providing leadership to Extension educational programs for beginning farmers as well as programs involving specialty and alternative crops, value-added farm enterprises and sustainable agriculture. In addition to these responsibilities, in 2020, Troy was named the project director for the Tennessee AgrAbility Program. Troy received his B.S. degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, then began a career with UT Extension in Hickman County that spanned more than 33 years. Troy served several years as a 4-H Agent and later worked with agriculture and natural resources programs while serving as the County Extension Director.

Troy has won several professional awards during his career and has been an active member of TAAA&S, serving on the state board for a six-year term, including a term as TAAA&S President. He also was Co-Chair of the fundraising committee for TAAA&S as they were host to the national meeting in Chattanooga in 2018.

Troy is a native of Maury County. Currently Troy and his wife Tammy live in Hickman County and have twin sons, Taylor and Tyler, who are graduates of UT Knoxville with degrees in Agricultural and Resource Economics.​

Troy is a Program Coordinator with the Center for Profitable Agriculture working in the areas of sustainable agriculture, specialty crops, value-added agriculture, beginning farmer programs and is project director for the TN AgrAbility Project.
