Kendhl Seabright

Research Associate I | School of Natural Resources

Specialization: Analytical Chemistry

Overview

1. Develop phytosanitary treatments using alternative fumigant gases to eliminate the risk of spreading invasive pests in export logs. Research focusses on replacing Methyl bromide as a treatment for logs infested with pinewood nematode (pine wilt disease), oak wilt fungus (oak wilt disease), and thousand cankers disease. 2. Chemical characterization of biomass sources to determine optimal conditions to produce renewable carbon materials.
