VMP 891 - Basic Small Animal Surgical Principles

Elective course presents the basics of aseptic technique, including pack preparation, gowning, gloving, and waterless hand scrubs; instrument handling; knot tying; suture placement; and ligation. More advanced practice and near-peer instruction opportunities available to upperclassmen.

VMP 894 - Small Animal Surgery – Spay/Neuter Elective

Major emphasis on hands-on experience in small animal surgery. Students will rotate roles weekly as primary surgeon, assistant surgeon, or anesthetist.
