Overview

Jena West came to Tennessee in 1995 to attend college at Lincoln Memorial University, where she graduated with her Associate of Veterinary Technology Degree two years later. In 1997, she took her exams and became a licensed veterinary technician in Tennessee and took over the position of dermatology technician at The University of Tennessee Veterinary Medical Center until 2001, when she took a brief �retirement� to stay home and raise her family. In 2004 she graduated with honors with her BA in Psychology with a concentration in child development from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Because of her love of veterinary medicine, Jena came back to the UT Veterinary Medical Center in 2011 to become the cardiology technician. She completed her specialization in cardiology through the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) in 2019. An experienced member of the cardiology team, she may be the person you talk to first about your pet.
