Overview

Dr. Caroline Griffin is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences. She provides clinical services for both Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery and Equine Medicine departments. Her areas of interest include large animal internal medicine, neonatology, soft tissue surgery, camelid medicine, and companion pig care. She is working to complete her PhD in Comparative and Experimental Medicine with a focus on placental health in the face of viral disease. 

Research Focus

Placental health and the maternal-fetal interface. Dr. Griffin studies non-invasive diagnostics for determining placental health and seeks to understand placental immunity during health and disease.

Clinical Focus

Farm animal internal medicine, equine internal medicine, neonatology, small ruminant/camelid medicine, and companion pig medicine.

Teaching Focus

Camelid, equine, and livestock introductory courses in the DVM curriculum. Special courses include electives in companion pig medicine, camelid neonatology, and camelid medicine.

Outreach Focus

Invited lectures related to agricultural animal health and wellness and participates in organized veterinary medicine, providing training to future veterinarians and animal scientists.
