Overview

Since joining the University of Tennessee in 2018, Doug Bohner has served in multiple leadership roles at UTIA including Director of Extension Evaluation and Staff Development, and UTIA Human Resources Officer before assuming the role of COO in 2022. Bringing over twenty years of HR and Operations experience in Fortune 100 companies including The Walt Disney Company and Express Scripts (Cigna), Doug leads the institute’s Operations function which is comprised of Information Technology Services, Human Resource Services, Facilities, Capital Projects, and Sponsored Programs. Along with managing various special projects and initiatives, Doug and the Operations leadership team execute against the long-term strategic goals of UTIA while ensuring that tactical day-to-day operational support is delivered effectively and efficiently both on campus and in all UTIA locations across the state. Originally from rural Pennsylvania, Doug received his undergraduate degree from West Chester University and his master’s in human resources from Rollins College. He is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and has functional expertise in operations integration, mergers & acquisitions, organization development, compliance investigations, and employee relations.
