Overview

Madalyn serves as the Student Life Coordinator for the Herbert College of Agriculture and is a current doctoral student in the Higher Education Administration program at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Born and raised in the rural community of De Soto, Iowa, Madalyn received her bachelor's degree in music performance from Iowa State University and a master’s degree in music performance from George Mason University in May 2022. Halfway through her master's program, she began working for the Reva and Sid Dewberry School of Music in Fairfax, Virginia and fell in love with her administrative position in higher education. She is continuously inspired by the students she has the privilege of working with and is excited to promote and strengthen student life in her new role.

Review of the basic fundamentals of how to work effectively in teams and groups. Basic leadership principles such as communication, leadership styles, trust, and group dynamics are examined through multiple forms of learning activities with a focus on skill sets which can be applied to group formation in community and business environments.
