Overview

Kaitlyn is a DVM candidate (Class of 2026) at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She began working with chytrid fungus at Vanderbilt University and completed an honors thesis on lymphocyte inhibition by cell wall components of Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd). As a BI scholar in the Summer 2023 Veterinary Student Research Program, she is currently studying the use of natural remedies to treat Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans (Bsal) infection in salamanders. After graduation, she will serve in the Army Veterinary Corps.
