Overview

I am a PhD student advised by Dr. Mark Wilber and am broadly interested in incorporating complex host-parasite interactions into our general understanding of infectious disease. My research will investigate enzootic persistence and epizootic recoveries of amphibian populations infected with Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis. Specifically, I am investigating how host identity, communities and landscapes can shape disease outcomes.

Research Questions
  • How does host identity drive Bd presence and persistence across space and time?
  • Under what ecological and evolutionary scenarios will individual-level host resistance emerge before a reduction in pathogen virulence, leading to the recovery of the host population?
