Extension Specialist | Animal Science

Specialization: Dairy Farm Management, Business Management, Program Support

Overview

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in 2022 from the University of Georgia, with majors in both Dairy Science and Animal Science. After completion, I set out to obtain a Master of Science degree in hopes of pursuing a career in dairy extension. I received my MS in Animal and Dairy Science from the University of Georgia in 2024 under the direction of Dr. Sha Tao.

My research during my time at UGA focused on the effects of seasonal and environmental factors, such as ambient temperature, relative humidity, black globe temperature, and management styles such as housing methods and feeding protocols, on the performance of preweaned dairy calves. The research included a span fifteen months, three commercial dairy operations in Middle Georgia, and over 2,300 calves.

Currently, I serve as an Extension Specialist through the Southeast Dairy Business Innovation Initiave (SDBII), one of the four DBIs in the country providing support and technical assistance to dairy producers and processors. In addition to the work done through the program, I assist with the UT Dairy Club and the Tennessee Master Dairy Producer Program.
