Overview

Rachel Lees is proud to be a Veterinary Nurse and member of the Academy of Veterinary Behavior Technicians. She is also delighted to be a Certified Training Partner through the Karen Pryor Dog Trainer Professional Academy. Rachel graduated from Cuyahoga Community College in May of 2009 with her Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology. Immediately after graduation, Rachel was employed at a multi-doctor practice in a suburb near Cleveland, Ohio. She became the behavior advocate of her veterinary hospital introducing the need for happy visits and performing behavior modification with behavior cases in the practice. In June of 2013, Rachel resigned from her position in general practice and accepted her position at The Behavior Clinic in Olmsted Falls, Ohio. In April of 2014, she graduated and became a Certified Training Partner with Karen Pryor Academy. After an 8-year adventure with The Behavior Clinic, in May 2021 Rachel uprooted herself and obtained a position at The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine with Dr. Julia Albright, DACVB. Rachel holds a special interest in teaching cooperative care techniques for veterinary protocols to small animals and has even worked with some exotic species. Rachel is an Elite Fear Free Professional, is on the Fear Free Speakers Bureau, and is an active member of the Fear Free Advisory Panel.  Rachel is the current CVTS liaison for the Academy of Veterinary Behavior Technicians and is an active instructor and member of VIN/VSPN, NAVTA (National Association of Veterinary Technicians of America), and TVTA (Tennessee Veterinary Technician Association). Away from work, Rachel enjoys spending time with her Miniature Pinscher Mix, Connor, and her Orange Tabby Cat, Ernie. You can also catch her with her earbuds, getting lost in the lyrics of Taylor Swift and Lana Del Ray.
