William L Johnson
Bill Johnson is the Jerry L. Gibbs Professor of Practice in the Agricultural and Resource Economics (AREC) Department within the Herbert College of Agriculture. This role provides classroom instruction and project-based courses using experiential learning techniques to deepen student understanding of business and leadership principles.
Dr. Johnson most recently served as president and chief executive officer of Farm Credit Mid-America. He has nearly 40 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in direct lending, risk management, business operations, information services, higher education and civic engagement.
Dr. Johnson serves on the board of trustees at the University of Evansville. He also served on the boards of AgriNovus Indiana in Indianapolis, Indiana, FCC Services in Denver, Colorado and the Farm Credit System presidents planning committee in Washington, D.C.
Johnson received his doctorate in education from Vanderbilt University, a master's in business administration from Gonzaga University, and a bachelor's of science in business from the University of Evansville.
