Hi! My name is Haley and I am a Veterinary Social Worker providing grief support to our UTCVM pet parents and team members. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Veterinary Social Worker (VSW). I am a UTK Alumni and graduated with my MSSW in 2023 after interning at the UTCVM. I am very excited to be back! 

 

In addition to my educational background, I have also previously worked in a high-intake animal shelter which deeply shaped my professional goals and my ability to support people through grief. Throughout my career, I have focused on addressing pet-related grief and professional compassion fatigue, supporting veterinary professionals, and developing creative solutions to needs that arise within the human-animal bond. I have worked with both pet parents and veterinary professionals in various capacities, and I am excited to bring those experiences to the UTCVM.  I am deeply passionate about building a community, fostering connections with others that understand your pain, and advocating for the human-animal bond. 

 

In my free time, I love being outdoors, spending time with my rescue dog, Sicily, and taking care of all my house plants. I love traveling and am always planning my next adventure!
