Ami Marie Sharp
Ami Sharp is currently a Research Associate III and Operational Manager of the UT Tree Improvement Program. Ms. Sharp is responsible for the daily operations of the UT Tree Improvement Program, scheduling, experimental implementation, data collection and storage, inventory, field methodology, and daily supervision of UT-TIP personnel.
Ami earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Forest Resource Management from the University of Tennessee in 2001. Her undergraduate experiences include serving as a whitewater raft summer guide on the Nolichucky River in the Appalachian Mountains. She also worked in Colorado as a park technician in Eldorado Canyon State Park and as a Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Sanctuary volunteer. Additionally, she served as a United States Forest Service summer technician collecting tree data in the southwest with the Fort Collins Rocky Mountain Research Center. Following graduation she worked as a Research Assistant for the UT Tree Improvement Program while completing advanced level course work in forestry. Ami became a Research Associate I in 2007, and was subsequently promoted through the ranks to her current position.
