Sophie Schmidt
Sophie Schmidt serves as communications coordinator for the UTIA Office of Marketing and Communications, with a focus on e-communications and web content management.
Her responsibilities include the layout and design of Common Ground, the senior vice president and senior vice chancellor for agriculture's monthly newsletter, as well as the quarterly newsletters for the deans of UT AgResearch, the Herbert College of Agriculture, and UT Extension.
She also provides support for additional departmental and programmatic newsletters, executive-level emails, and creates and manages web content for the UTIA home site. Her position is especially suited to bridging the offices of Marketing and Communications and Information Technology Services, facilitating conversations between designers and developers for our clients’ best interests.
She also serves as the marketing liaison for the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences.
Her interests include increasing accessibility and overall user experience across web media types and platforms, as well as leveraging metrics and UI/UX testing to guide content development.
