Research Focus
As a researcher my goals are to answer critical issues expressed by livestock and crop producers; finding and identifying problems not yet recognized by producers and develop strategies to mitigate these issues.
Research Questions
- My current research program has been focused on improved forage systems and management including: improved forage quality and nutritive value, grazing season extension to reduce feeding costs, forage stockpiling and alternative year-round grazing systems, sustainable forage production and fertilization by introducing forage legumes (e.g. cowpea), and integrated crop/livestock systems (in partnership with Brazilian institutions).
