Jacqueline Nicole Yenerall

Assistant Professor | Agricultural and Resource Economics

Specialization: Food and Health Economics

Overview

My research investigates the social determinants of health to better understand how wealth, education, and the built environment influences health and how health influences economic well-being. Currently, I am interested in understanding how the food environment, which includes the types and quantities of food stores located near to an individual’s home, influences where we shop and what we buy. I also study how policies influence prescription opioid use, and am interested in better understanding how illicit substance use differs in rural and urban areas. Develop and evaluating programs and policies to improve health outcomes is also part of my research portfolio.
